what, thanksgiving is tomorrow?!

I took a little blog break due to a migraine that has lasted a good week, tiredness from the migraine, and the holiday season has just slowed me down this year for some reason,
(should i be worried that it is only the beginning and i am already slow?!).

But i finally got my camera out today and loaded some pictures and thought i better at least try and finish a post before thanksgiving comes and i get really behind.

So here are a few happenings around the Leavitt home this past week or so!

Our neighbor has adopted a orphan chicken, yes a chicken, it is tame and will sit with her in a chair and eat from her hand.

The girls think that it is pretty cool to look at, so while i was laying down Kyle had all the girls outside running around. I heard a lot of laughing and screaming so i went to see what was going on.
The chicken had came right over to the fence and the girls were talking, balking, and laughing to him!

I guess the chicken has made our owning its bed and so about 4:30 every night it flys up there and goes to sleep.
The day we were out watching him it was about his bedtime, so he got up on the fence and walked around for awhile, the girls were still laughing, then he got up onto the owning and they still thought it was cool and nice.

We stayed out looking at him up there and the girls were still "talking chicken" to it.

When it started to look like it was going to fly down to talk back to us, i told Kyle to start getting everyone inside, but we were not fast enough.
About 5 second after i snapped this picture, it flew down to play,
then all chaos started!
You would think that some horrible huge man eating snake was after all the kids and Josie was the only one that could save them.

The girls were all climbing my legs for safety,
Josie was running after it hoping to have a nice chicken dinner,
Kyle was running after Josie,
and i was trying to hold 3 crying screaming kids and not let them get pecked or ran over by the dog!!!

Needless to say, when the chicken gets up on the fence the girls are ready to stop balking at it and come inside before it can get down to "play" with them!
It was a pretty fun few seconds and the neighbor that watched it all got quite a laugh!!

That same night Addison found a new hat.

On friday, Jerrica surprised us and came a day earlier than we planed!
It is always so great to see her and Khole!
She had walked out of the room for about 2 seconds and all the kids just come running to try and touch Khole!
We love her and fight to see who gets to hold her!

The twins, especially Alaynna love her! Every second she can she is right next to her touching her! She really wants to hold her and drag her around like her baby dolls, but for some reason Jerrica wont let her!

Jerrica and Jakell went to Marysvale for thanksgiving, but they will be back and i think that everyone will be really happy to have Khole to hold for a little while longer!!!!

She is pretty much of the happiest little girls in the world!!
Ya, I am a proud Auntie!!!

In other news, Kyle got a ram.
(yes, this hunt is over.)
To say he was happy is a huge understatement, i think he would say it was better than our wedding day if he thought he could get away with it!
He was gone pretty much every day during sunlight hours for months, (including the day we got back from our anniversary trip) found countless sheep, took a million pictures of sheep, made me a expert in judging how big a sheep is, stayed watching this sheep for the whole day before his hunt with only a PB&J to eat and no mountain dew,
He was pretty dedicated and is pretty much the best sheep hunter alive, just ask him!!!!

There was another guy from the valley that had the same tag and got a smaller but almost as nice sheep as Kyle in the same area a few hours after Kyle got his, so this is the whole hunting party!
They were out taking pictures, showing everyone, and telling there hunting stories to anyone that would listen for the whole day!!!
Everyone that went seemed to have fun, Kyle got a 168 inch ram, and i get another dead animal in my house.
Like my brother in law Joey says, Soon my home will be a petting zoo of dead animals!
Yea me.

We also had a mouse in our house. I hate mice. But after some ripping apart of the island and then some foam installation, decon, sticky traps, and other mouse killer stuff we havent seen or heard from it again.
And if i happen to hear it again, i will get my boots, flash light, hammer and frying pan out again and kill the little SOB!!!!!

Thats all from the Leavitt house, tomorrow is thanksgiving and I plan to eat my weight in turkey and pie!
I hope everyone else will do the same!!!

veterans day/anniversary/best friends

This one might be long,
so beware,
and i dont feel great,
so it also might be a bunch of mumble jumbo!!

Veterans Day

This year for veterans day it was a little chilly, you never know what the weather will be like this time of year it seems like.
But we braved it and walked down the street to watch the parade. This year we ended up down by the insurance place and oh boy did it stink,
literally, it smelled like crap!
I think next year we are going to have to find us a new place.
I sent Kyle to go get a pepsi and he not only brought a pepsi, but he also brought Lauren and Allie with him so we were happy!
Grace was not that into running for the candy, so Grandpa, Uncle Oz, Dad, Grandma, Me, Allie, and pregnant Lauren all had to try and make her go get it, but she didnt get into it till the parade was pretty much over, oh well next year!
The little girls on the other hand couldnt wait to get out of the stroller and run for the candy.
We had a good time at the parade and came home with to much candy to add to our halloween candy!

~~ 5 years! ~~

On the 12th we celebrated our 5 year anniversary!
yes, 5 years!!!!
Kyle surprised me by getting a room at the new york new york, I really had no idea till the day before! He did good and got us a babysitter, (nancy, thank you!), planed a few fun things to do and let me sleep in!
Vegas is really not for us, we are old old people at heart.
We walked over to the Planet Hollywood Miracle Mile and looked at all kinds of stuff, I got a new bra, (the last bra a bought myself was right before our wedding, so i really REALLY needed one)! While i did my bra shopping Kyle went and found us a place to eat.
We went to a Brazilian place that we decided was way to fancy for us, but we had fun trying some new crazy food!
Then we walked around a few other shops right there on the strip, seen some crazy bums and looked at some camera stuff we couldnt afford!
We gambles a whole $5 down the drain in the penny machines, it took about 2 minutes to loss it and i didnt feel like we needed to throw any more money away so we walked to the Piano Bar that i love!
It was only 7:30 and it didnt open till 8 so we walked up to Coyote Ugly, and when you dont drink, you dont like loud music, and you are both as white as it comes, you can only stay so long!
But we had fun laughing at all the crazy white girls trying to shake there booty's but the music was to loud and so we left not to long after we got there!
So we just walked around some more!
The good thing about the strip is there is a lot to see without having to spend money!
We were tired and so by 9:30 we were ready to go to sleep and went up to the room!
We slept in till 8:30, and that is late for us!
It was a really nice little getaway and it was really nice that Kyle planed it all.

Best Friends

Kyle has a sheep hunt,
it is a once in a lifetime hunt,
he goes out everyday he is home,
and today was no different.

I laid down to take a little nap while he took Grace out for the 2nd time today and the twins were also napping, so when all 3 of us woke up we were all really happy and nice!

When they woke up they ran into the kitchen and seen Kyle had bought some cookies and they just couldnt live without one. So i gave them one and walked away for a minute and this is what i walked into....

Just 2 BFF's sitting watching cooking with some cookies and juice, and they have loved eachother all night. It has been a good night!!

10 things i am thankful for

Because it is the month to be thankful,
I am going to write what i am thankful for everyday in the month and because i am 10 days behind i am going to name 10 things today!
(this will probably be the only thankful post, holiday time is busy!)

  1. My family- I feel lucky to be a mom and a wife. I have great kids that are healthy, for the most part, and a husband that helps me and is my partner in everything!
  2. The family i grew up with- I was raised well, and that has everything to do with the way my mom and dad raise me. They taught me to have good values and morals, keep a clean home, cook, be a good parent, and many other things that shaped me into the women that i am today. I also grew up with two of my best friends, my sisters! Even if they make stupid decisions that i yell at them over, we still love each other and i know if i ever need to talk or need anything they are both there for me!
  3. The family that i married into- I was lucky enough to marry into a great family who really treats me like one of there own. Nancy is like a second mom to me, i know that if i ever needed anything she is right there and i am lucky to have such a great relationship with my mother in law! Penn is just a great man all around, who couldnt love him!? Anytime we have ever needed anything he is more than willing to drop what he is doing and come help out! I also got 3 great brother in laws that always make family things funner and are all around great young men and one great sister-in-law that is wonderful with my girls.
  4. Both our extended family's- Both Kyle and I were lucky enough to grow up with close family's, I feel lucky that my kids know all the great grandparents and all of our aunts, uncles, cousins and feel like they are family. I love that i get to talk to both sets of my grandparents once a week and get the scoop on everyone in the family! I also love that we have alot of the Leavitt side of the family around the valley, it is always nice to have family around
  5. The men and women that serve our country-  I have always been grateful toward them and i have know alot of people that have served in Iraq. But this week my brother-in-law-to-be, Joey, leaves for 6 months. He is leaving Jerrica and Khole at home and it made me really realize what you give up when you are in the service.
  6. To live here in hell- Yes i said it, I am thankful to live here. I recently had a Revelation that if we lived in Utah where Kyle could go scouting everyday, i would kill him! Also other than summer, the weather here is not horrible and snow is only a short drive away! And to add to it, Kyle has a wonderful job that he likes and he is good at! So yes i still hate it here, but i just dont hate it as much as i did!
  7. Nap time- Nap time is my favorite part of the day, well right behind bed time!!! I just wish i had a little more ambition so i could get something accomplished during my 2 hours of no kids!!
  8. Preschool for Grace- I am so thankful that Grace got into the preschool she did. She has learned so much and she has so many new friends! She also has WAY come out of her shell, she use to be shy but now she'll tell you our whole life story if you'll listen! I had to give her the stranger danger talk a few days ago, we talk about it about everyday and i am hoping one day soon it will sink in, if you dont know there name, dont talk to them!!!
  9. My common sense- I dont think i am the smartest person out there, but i for sure am smarter than the majority of people i come into contact with! The other night i was listening to a 19 year old girl who was pregnant and living with her boyfirend, she was telling a story about how this is as bad as her life is ever going to be. I wanted to get up and slap her and say listen little girl, you baby is healthy, you are healthy, and you and your boyfriend have jobs, your lives right now are not all that bad. But common sence kicked in and i only imaginaed beating and yelling at her, she on the other hand just kept going and going, she doesnt have much common sence.
  10. God- I may not go to church, but I have tried hard to teach Grace about God and what I believe is true. I am a good person by any religion standards and i am raising my family to be good people. I am not openminded about many things, but religion is one thing that i am opened minded about. I let people tell me what they think is "the right way to live" and i smile and shake my head even when i dont agree. I someday hope that people will catch on and do the same to me. I am more of the live and let live kind a person and unless what you are doing is affecting me or my loved one negativly i am not going to say anything, all i want is the same done to me!!

So this is just 10 things that i am thankful for, hopefully i will be able to do a few more thankful posts!!!

A few stories from the week

We have been sick, imagine that!
At first i thought it was just colds, but then no one was getting better and Alaynna wouldnt keep her fingers out of her ears.
So off to the doctor we went.
Alaynna had double ear infection, Addison and Grace had it more in one ear than the other so we got antibiotics! Addison and Grace got better in about 3 days but Alaynna has just cried and cried and cried. I thought for sure her ear aches had not went away and i was in for it, but after some poking around,
i found 4 molar teeth coming in!!!
So we are over our colds and i at least now know why she is so cranky!

Since Kyle and I have been married one of my brother in laws has been on a mission. Kaden left after we had only been married for a few months, we took him up to the MTC and that was really sad, but i was pregnant and a new mom, so it went by fast!

After he got home it was Vances turn, his was hard at the beginning and i did really good writing to him, but then i got pregnant with the twins, and well i rarely do anything but kids so it also went by fast!!

Now it is Lukes turn,
and I already miss him and he's not even gone yet! When Kyle and I got married he was only 14 so i have watched him grow up into a great young man and I can not believe he is even old enough to go on a mission. I know that missions are great, but i am so glad he is the last brother in law to go, 2 years is just way to long! This time i really am going to try and do some better writing and even make kyle write a few letters too!!

Every time the girls "help" with something i always give them a high five! One of the favorite things to help with is unloading the dishwasher.
So the other day the twins were "helping" unload dishes and they got all the dishes out and pushed the door shut. Then they turned to each other and gave each other a big high five and then laughed and walked away!

There are some days they are to hard to handle and i feel like rocking back and forth in the corner, but then they do cute things like that and it makes the monster like things they do not so horrible!!!

That has been our week, not a whole lot going on here at the Leavitt home, Kyle goes and looks for sheep every chance he has, Grace is as crazy and talkative as ever and the twins are monster, but the cute kind!!!
As for me, I am patiently waiting for my kindle that will be here tomorrow!!

Just Pictures

There for awhile i got into a slump with taking pictures, so i have been trying to take it our of the drawer and get a few pictures of life here at the leavitt home!

The other day Grace got to pick a pumpkin out of the truck at school! She was really happy with it and she of course told us that Conner got a huge one!!!
I think she did pretty good at picking it, to bad we were really bad and didnt carve it for her!

Since none of my kids will hold still anymore for pictures i have to take them while they run.
This is the only good one i got out of about 30 pictures, my children are no good at holding still!!!
