pinterest/facebook/real life.

Lately I have been really down.
I feel like I could be such a better mom, wife, friend, all of it.
I think it is so easy to look at all these other peoples lives and think, "dang that woman has it together."
and wow, I do not have it together, even alittle!
Like right now, I am on the computer watch "the following" while the twins are bathing cause they are dirty from laying naked in the irrigation water.
When I probably should be folding the 6 loads of laundry that are downstairs waiting for me, like they have been for the last 4 days.
Or maybe I should be planning something from pinterest to make for dinner.
Or maybe, just maybe I should be sewing, scrap booking, or working out so when I run everything doesnt jiggle.

When I get on blogs, facebook, pinterest I think it just fuels the fire.

Sally has worked out today, made a million freezer meals, got showered and dressed, and has a newborn baby but you cant tell cause she is stick thin skinny.

Liz just went on a extravagant trip to the beach with her husband and is tan and looks hot in a bikini.

Jill over there in an apron just had a girls night after making dinner for her family and her house looks like a page from IKEA.

Meagan just built a brand new house with brand new furniture and dresses in all the trendy clothes.

And then there is me,
showered and dressed means it has been a good morning.
my "workout" is climbing to the top cupboard where i hid my cookies.
4 years later and I still have baby weight to lose.

Also I think some women get satisfaction out of telling you how great they are or how you are lacking.

But, the girls havent turned out to bad, so it must not matter that I dont have...
$1000 birthday pinterest party's,
I let them eat sugar and fast food,
They arent dressed in the latest and greatest,
The Leprechaun dont leave gold and the tooth fairy just leaves money,
and we dont take them to Disneyland every year.

Around the house!

We have been keeping it pretty low key around here, still trying to get moved in and settled in!

We have also been enjoying our new back yard and the wonderful weather we have been having!

The yard here was one of the biggest reasons we decided we could live in a smaller house for then next few years. It has tons of trees, lots of shade, a little place that is overgrown so it makes a really cool fort, probably (i say) 20, (kyle says) 10 pomegranate trees (there is alot of them!), a few pecan trees, fig tress, all fenced in, and tons of room to run!
We love it our there!

It is starting to really feel like home here, But I told Kyle, "we will get all moved in and start feeling comfortable and then it will be time to move again!" But really for the time being till we can buy or build our forever house, we are happy here!

The kitchen is smaller than I am use to. To cook dinner in it is fine, to make cakes is another story. So..... I have retired!
Other than the small kitchen and sharing a bathroom, it couldnt be better here at the new Leavitt home!

And I can still say that I live in the house with the white picket fence around it!

Tooth Fairy Visits

Grace lost her first tooth!!

She came home the day before just smiling ear to ear, when I asked her why she was so happy, she showed me how loose her tooth was. I tried to get her to pull it, Kyle even tied a string to it, but she freaked out and said it wasnt ready!
The next day when she got home, it was barely hanging on. Kyle said he would tie a string around it, but when he tightened it up the tooth came right out!
She cried but then thought it was pretty cool!
When I went to see if she was asleep, She had put a sign at the front of her door it said "Come on in tooth fairy!"
I also looked to make sure her tooth was under her pillow, but she had decided to write a not to the tooth fairy and put it in an envelop! Her note said "Please sign here, my name is Grace!"

She is so crazy and getting so big!!

Heres to the next few years of no teeth, big teeth, and just plain dorkyness!
If she looks anything like I did, God help me!
She will have coke bottle glasses taped together with braces on!
Thanks goodness you dont stay as ugly as you were in 6th grade!!

Addison and Alaynnas 4th Birthday

My babies turned 4, I still cant believe that they are that old!
Sometimes I forget that they are getting big, sometimes I dont want them to get older, sometimes I want my babies back, but I guess getting older is part of life, as sad as it is for me!

I dont do the whole huge party thing, I just think that if you do huge stuff for them when they are young, how do you top yourself the next year. A cake, some ice cream and some family and I call it good.

I run into different problems with the twins than I did with Grace.
Every year Grace gets jealous cause she feels left out, and people usually bring something for her to open up, and it is even more confusing for her and at some point in her life she has to learn that it sucks, but it isnt her day.
Another problem... getting two of something gets expensive, but it is Addisons birthday and it is Alaynnas birthday, it sucks that they have to share gifts.
Another problem... Addison and Alaynna couldn't be more different, but if you get one a doll and the other one coloring stuff, they want what the other one has!
I know these arent real "problems" but they are things that you dont think about when you say you want twins, believe me, you dont want twins!

The day of the big day they woke up early and I sang "happy happy birthday to my birthday girls!" and they laughed and wanted me to sing again! We just let them play and play, they decided they didnt want there hair done cute and they wanted to pick out clothes by themselves!

They waited and waited till everyone got here so that they could blow out their candles and eat their rainbow flower cakes! After cake they opened up all kinds of nice gifts, like stompeez, clothes, rain boots, umbrellas, and lawn mowers that blow bubbles!
After everyone left they played more! When they were hungry for dinner, they made themselves birthday pizza! Ok, we all made our own pizzas, all 3 of the girls ate more than they ever have and we had alot of fun!

They said they had a great birthday and asked if it could be there birthday again in the morning!!

It has been a crazy 4 years, there have been someday when I didnt know if we would make it to see year 4, but we did!
They get easier ever day and they are each others best friend.
They play all day together and get into all kinds of trouble.
They egg each other on to get into trouble!
They stick up for each other to the point Addison will beat you up if you are mean to Alaynna.
If you make Addison mad you are no longer her best friend.
Alaynna can get Addison to do pretty much anything she doesnt want to.
When it is just the two of them talking to each other, you cant understand a dang thing they say!

They are so fun and life just wouldnt be as fun without them!

Fair

We had the stomach flu the week of the fair. Poor Grace had to miss going to the fair with her class even. But Thursday we had rodeo tickets and those things arent cheap!! So we went over to have fair food for dinner, I got an Indian Taco. After a few minutes, Addison puked on me and my food.
Kids are gross!!!!

We decided we were going to try the rodeo anyways, we wont be doing that anytime soon again. All three of them complained after about 15 minutes!

After walking around for a few minutes we thought we better go back home to sleep so we could feel better friday!

Friday we tried to do everything that the girls wanted so we wouldnt have to go back on the busy days!
And the girls were all feeling better, it was just me who wasnt feeling great!

The girls really wanted to see the pigs race, this is not at the top of my list. But luckily as we walked in they were getting ready to race! We checked that one off our list very first thing, no sitting in the sun for 20 minutes waiting!

After eating some treats, we walked around and seen all that we could see. After walking around the fine arts building Grace decided to get her face painted! She picked out a huge butterfly. Both Kyle and I were really surprised that she let someone stranger close to her, but we were happy she did it!

The girls also really wanted to ride the fancy nancy horses! I am pretty sure that is the favorite thing to do at the fair for all of them!!  Alaynna wouldnt smile for my camera, but she did enjoy it!!

After walking around the small animal barn for awhile the last thing on our list was to get a funnel cake for Grace!

Kyle and I were all faired out, it was fun but one day was good this year! I cant take the food, and we cant take all the people! It didnt help that i wasnt feeling good and the girls were just getting better!

I hope to feel good next year and put a cake in and some pictures, but we will see April is a busy month!

We have lived in our little cottage here for 2 weeks and for 2 weeks i have not stopped!!!
You dont realize how much crap you have till you have to move it and find new places to shove all of it!!!
Also in the middle of living in the piles I made a cake! I should take a picture of my new kitchen, it is a lot smaller than I am use to and making cakes sucks in it, I think i am taking a break from cakes for awhile!

After getting a few of my piles cleaned up it was fair time! Fair time is usually really fun, but this year Grace got sick the day before and then it went through all of the girls!

Before I update with the fair and the twins 4th birthday here is a picture of Owen!! He has had a rough little while, but he just had surgery and will hopefully start feeling great again and get to go home for awhile!! We cant wait to go down there and love on him, hopefully we can stay healthy so we can go soon!!

Easter

We had a pretty low key Easter since we were right in the middle of moving!

We did go down and color some Easter eggs with everybody.

We had quite the mess here and so the Easter bunny just hid stuff in the mess! Luckily the girls found all of it!

Alaynna had a little to much of the mulberry and her allergy's were terrible so she just laid around all morning.

Later that day we went down to have Easter lunch and an egg hunt!

The girls had alot of fun and i hope now that most of the piles are cleaned up and put away I can take a few pictures and keep this blog updated!
Pictures of the new place to come soon.

Leighton turns 1!

Leighton had her 1st birthday party and I got to make the cake!

Laura did a really cute job on the party!

The girls had alot of fun finding Easter eggs and jumping on the trampoline!
