catch up

I thought I should write down a few things that have been going on at this house. I haven't been great at blogging this past year and the girls are at such fun ages that I thought I better write down a few of the crazy things they do!

When just us girls were on our way home from St. George, Addison said she wanted to tell me who her boyfriend was, and then after that we learned alot more about all 3 of the girls boyfriends!
Addison's boyfriends name is Ty, he has a mohawk and is in Mrs. Cameron class. He doesn't know he is her boyfriend, shes not going to tell him till they are older!
Alaynna was very sad when I told her that both her and Addison couldn't marry Ty, so shes decided she didn't want to have a boyfriend. 
Grace doesn't have a boyfriend, but a boy in her class always tells her she is "hot".
I told her, " did you tell him he couldn't call you hot? He can say you are pretty, cute, nice, but not hot!"

The girls love to play outside and now that the weather is beautiful, I love to be out there to, but the nights do get a little cold.

My chickens are doing great, I have 3 great hens, who lay everyday, but I have 2 who are a little more stubborn. We have just enough eggs to give some away and then we have eggs of some kind for dinner once a week!

Kyles been hunting, Lukes Elk hunt, then he left again this last weekend for his deer. Me and the girls do all of the girly things that we don't do when Kyle is here to interrupt!
We watch movies, eat popcorn, take long baths, do our nails, and shop!!!

I have taken up crocheting, so I knit and crochet anytime I can, but it hurts my left arm, so I got myself a compression arm band, hopefully it helps!

Kyle left us to do the Veterans day parade by ourselves. We met Grandma and Grandpa Leavitt down there and the girls got way to much candy! Then Grandma took us to lunch at the scoop! Grace doesn't get to go down very often, so she went down and helped her clean her doll cabinets while me and the twins watch frozen and almost took a nap!

That's about all that's been going on here, I still am going to the doctor way to often and feel like I cant catch up, but next year is going to be a better, calmer year, so it will be ok, everything will be ok.

Summer

It is summer here, and I really have been enjoying it. I use to hate it when it got hot, but this year it has been different.

Summer should be defined as....
When the temperature stays above  70* all the time!
I learned last weekend that summer in Utah is WAY different than summer here at home!
We have been swimming in the reservoir for at least the last month, the twins have lived in there swimming suits for the last 2 months, I have been in shorts for at least the last 2 months, and I have a awesome tan line on my feet from my toms, that is when you know it is summer!!

Now dont get me wrong when the real hot summer weather get here, like when the temperature doesnt fall past 90*, you will find me hiding out in Utah! 

Kyle and I were talking the other day and I said after 10 years, Moapa Valley finally feels like home. I dont know if it is cause we know that we are never leaving or if it just home now, but I like the feeling of home! 

I have become a bird watcher, I made Kyle put me a bird feeder right outside my front window!
It may be weird or "old lady" of me, but it honestly is so calming. If we ever come into lots of money we are going to be birders, ya those crazy people who go bird watching all over the world.

Maybe we are weirder than I think!!!

Any one else out there learn how to use your camera and then take less pictures?
I feel like I learned how to shoot on manual and now I just dont shoot like I use to, maybe I am just in a funk, but I am thinking about getting a point and shoot so I can take 100's of pictures like I use to! 

Around the house!

We have been keeping it pretty low key around here, still trying to get moved in and settled in!

We have also been enjoying our new back yard and the wonderful weather we have been having!

The yard here was one of the biggest reasons we decided we could live in a smaller house for then next few years. It has tons of trees, lots of shade, a little place that is overgrown so it makes a really cool fort, probably (i say) 20, (kyle says) 10 pomegranate trees (there is alot of them!), a few pecan trees, fig tress, all fenced in, and tons of room to run!
We love it our there! 

It is starting to really feel like home here, But I told Kyle, "we will get all moved in and start feeling comfortable and then it will be time to move again!" But really for the time being till we can buy or build our forever house, we are happy here!

The kitchen is smaller than I am use to. To cook dinner in it is fine, to make cakes is another story. So..... I have retired!
Other than the small kitchen and sharing a bathroom, it couldnt be better here at the new Leavitt home!

And I can still say that I live in the house with the white picket fence around it!

We have lived in our little cottage here for 2 weeks and for 2 weeks i have not stopped!!!
You dont realize how much crap you have till you have to move it and find new places to shove all of it!!!
Also in the middle of living in the piles I made a cake! I should take a picture of my new kitchen, it is a lot smaller than I am use to and making cakes sucks in it, I think i am taking a break from cakes for awhile!

After getting a few of my piles cleaned up it was fair time! Fair time is usually really fun, but this year Grace got sick the day before and then it went through all of the girls!

Before I update with the fair and the twins 4th birthday here is a picture of Owen!! He has had a rough little while, but he just had surgery and will hopefully start feeling great again and get to go home for awhile!! We cant wait to go down there and love on him, hopefully we can stay healthy so we can go soon!!

catch up

Since my latest blog break...

I got another nephew!!! That makes 3 for each of us sisters!
Baby Treyse was born on December 30th and he is as cute as can be!

I also still love my oils, really i use them for everything, if you dont use them you should really give them a try, they will change your life, for realzzz!!!
I am having a class on on Tuesday and I am so excited!

Kyle grew a beard, then shaved it, but now has grown it back. I think he looks hot with it!! 

Grace is the author and illustrator of this little story.....
It says captain look up in the sky!
And that is a finger pointing to a bird.

I think i will send this to Ellen.

As i was sitting in our little TV room, I heard Grace say
"now hold still while I cut your hair"  
I rushed down there and she didnt have scissors, so I thought.
Then about 15 minutes later Alaynna come down and asked if I liked her new hair cut.

I really wanted to abuse grace.

But I didnt.

After I calmed down I went to talk to her and asked,

Me: "why did you do that?"
Grace: "well mom, I thought it would be fun."
Me: "and was it?"
Grace: "It was till I got in trouble for it."

Then I rushed away so she couldnt see me laughing! 

If you were wondering, Alaynnas hair looks worst as it grows out.

I love my nieces and nephews!!
I love to see them and love on them!

Grace loves her cousins!

I made some pecan pies, they were delicious, just ask Steve or Penn!!
The filling was really good, but the crust was store bought, anyone out there want to teach me how to make a great crust?  

My mom and Steve went on a little getaway to Vegas. They have been traveling the world and thought it would be nice to get away for a few nights.
We were so lucky to get to watch the dogs for them.

Saturday I got a call saying that my mom was in the ER with a twisted intestine and would be going in for sugery.
Jerrica flew in and I picked her up then off to the hospital we went.
While waiting for my mom to get out of surgery I needed to go potty. As I walked in I seen a dog on the floor, it scared me but it was a security dog! 

After my mom got out of surgery we decided that Jerrica and I would stay in the room that my mom and steve were suppose to be enjoying!

Lets just say it was super duper!!!! 

Grace has been doing really well with piano, she loves it and I learn with her. 

All has been well here and I hope to get back on track with my blog, maybe even take some pictures with my real camera!!! 

Snow!

 Penn brought a big pile of snow home!

We tried really hard to build some snow men, but there wasnt quiet enough snow to make them real big.

We of course threw some snow balls too, the girls thought that was really fun and ran and ran! 

This is the girls snow man, he even had a rotten carrot nose and some figs for eyes! 

 This one was Lukes, I think he as pretty proud of it!

It didn't take long before the snow all melted! It is still pretty warm here, as long as the wind isnt blowing and you stand in the sun! 

nothing

The other day Addison and Alaynna surprised me and helped me make my bed!
I thought it was so nice i didnt even remake it and I let it drive me crazy ever time i would walk in my room!
With Grace at school all day the twins have become really good friends and just play all day with each other. Having twins is finally paying off, it is like a built in friend to keep them busy!

So I am addicted to oils!
I rub myself down with 4 or 5 ever day and I really do think that they are going to make me all healthy and wonderful!
I rub the girls with on guard and lavender every night, Nancys sick and I just took her a concoction, I have tried to make Kyle think they are not black magic, but he is just not sold on them yet!

I found this really cute jewelry holder but it was hot pink, I just gave it a new color and I love it. Now maybe if my jewelry is out then I will wear it more!

All is well here, I am getting use to all of our life changes and not as sad as i have been, I even get out of the house occasionally.
We got new phones and joined the Iphone family and I am now an instagram addict! Laura told me i would love it and she was right!
But I still stand by my #ihatehashtagsrant and wont be using them!
I also still stand by my earlier "Mitts a dip" rant!

brrrrrrr, its cold outside!

This horrible weather has made me feel really unproductive and just want to stay in bed all day under the covers! I use to really want to move "home" to Utah, to Marysvale, but after these past few days I truly know i wouldn't last there, I have about died this week!!!

With that said my children have also had cabin fever and have been driving me nutty!!!
 The twins have for sure hit the terrible 2's, they are biting, hitting, always wanting to be independent, but not quite old enough to be independent, and into everything!  

Alaynna woke me up in the middle of the night crying, it was the hurt cry so i got up and ran down and got her, but i couldnt figure out why she was crying, so i laid her back down. In the morning when i went to get them out of bed I seen her eye was black and blue!!!!! She tried to tell me what happened, but all i got was her eye hurt!
Poor girl, it is finally looking better!

I had to put pictures of how beautiful our bathroom is looking, I have a floor, a toilet, and a vanity!!!
Now i just need a sink and the finishing touches!

We still have alot to do, but we have the big things out of the way!!

We also repainted the laundry room, the first color was to fleshy, like alot of pink in it and so we went for a real dark brown and i love it. I cant wait till all of it is done and we can move on to our next project!

Grace was so happy that she has a toilet in her bathroom, she wanted a pink one but she was ok with the white one!!

This was before it turned into the north pole here.

I think that is why it seems so cold, we were out in our summer dresses and then the next day we were in layers and had the heat cranked up and didnt leave the house!

Good thing this weekend will be back up to 70, maybe we can all unthaw by then!

Our broccoli and cauliflower got replaced with onions. We got a late start on it and since neither kyle or i are all that patient we decided instead of just waiting it out we would just rip it up and start fresh!
Our peas are looking awesome and hopefully still are alive!

I made real mashed potatoes for dinner and Alaynna had about 5 helping, I thought she had enough!
I walked out of the room and she pushed her chair over, pulled the bowl to her and ate all that was left!

Tonight i thought i would make some homemade taquitos, they didnt take long, but they required some work.
So while i was busy stuffing, rolling, and baking, my kids were busy spilling my pepsi, Grace cut her hair, but only a little cause she wanted to see what it wold look like short, (ahhhhhhhh), and choking on cough drops that the twins found. All the while destroying my clean home!!!

Then after all my hard work none of the girls would eat them, but me and Kyle enjoyed them.

Because i didnt want them starving, I threw some poptarts on the table!! And they all scrame, "treats, treats!!!!"
I told Kyle, "this is why i shouldnt waist my time with cooking or cleaning, they would be happy with cereal and poptarts for breakfast, lunch and dinner!"
