So, hunting at this house starts with scouting. Scouting is when you go look for the animal that you will be hunting to see what is there and how big the animals are, even if the hunt starts in about 4 months, it is still important!!
With that in mind Kyle decided that we were going to go camping,
in the tent, with all of our children, to go scout for my elk!!!
So we loaded up all of our crap, and went on a 4 hour drive into the middle of
no where!!
As we were on our way out of town with Josie in the back of the truck the temperature was over 100*, Kyle and I were worried about her getting to hot, But Grace was more worried she was hungry. Grace was really hoping that a rabbit would hop into the back of the truck just in case Josie got hungry she could eat it!!!!
She is so crazy!!!!
While on this 4 hour drive into the middle of Nevada, where there is no one and nothing, really nothing to look at, no towns to look forward to, NOTHING, the DVD player broke. At first i thought we were going to die, but after some creative thinking and Grace who talks your ear off we were ok and we all made it!
We got there really late on Friday so we just sat the tent up and went to sleep!
So on Saturday morning we got up, had some breakfast, and then went on a Rhino ride. We put the twins in the car seats in the back and Grace sat up by us, then off we went!
After our bottoms were a little sore from sitting and bumping along the road we went back to camp and played in the dirt and set Graces fishing pole up in the little river behind the tent.
As you can see from the pictures, the girls had fun, they were dirty and in heaven!
There were alot of butterflies so the girls wore themselves out trying to catch them! The butterflies knew they were coming for them cause as soon as the girls were close the butterflies would turn and dive bomb them. It was alot of fun to watch!
Sadly even thought they tried really hard, all day, they didnt catch one like Grace was really hoping!!
After some lunch, that ended up having more dirt than anything else, we made things out if the long grass that was beside our tent!
Grace kept telling me she was making a walking stick, I had no idea what she was talking about till she made something that looked alot like a praying mantis, then it clicked!!!! I have no idea how she knows what a walking stick bug is, but she really wants one!
By the time we made everything you can think of out of grass, the twins were in need of a nap so we loaded back into the rhino and went on our way!
Just riding around looking at things is not the funnest thing for Grace so we had to get out and take a few walks to pick flowers to keep Grace entertained!!
Going for short little walks to look for flowers, birds, bugs, anything, was a big hit! All 3 of the girls more ran than walked!!
When we got back from our walk we decided to get dinner going, and the girls were just running around playing the grass when we hear Grace start yelling,
DAD, i caught one, hurry dad, i need help, run, dad, run!!!!!
The little stinker snuck away to see if her worm was ok, but when we all came running we found her holding up her fish!!!
He was a little small so we were going to throw him back, but by the time kyle got the hook unstuck he just wouldnt swim. Grace was so happy she was going to have fish for dinner!!!
The twins both wanted there turn playing with the dead fish so Grace let them pet him but not hold him!! I sure do a few tomboys on my hands!!
After all the girls had fish all over there hands we went back to making dinner, they all got to butter the corn and they thought that was the coolest thing that ever happened. (I did mark the fishy corn from my own)
After dinner we thought we would get one more ride in cause Kyle was really hoping we would see some kind of animal with horns, but after getting 25 or so mile away from anyone or the truck the rhino shut off and didnt start back up for a few minutes. So I made him turn around cause i really didnt want to be stranded with 3 kids!!!
After going back and trying to make smores,
(Grace doesnt like her marshmallows hot, Alaynna doesnt like marshmallows, and the chocolate is to messy for Addison, but I ate 3 or 4 by myself) , we got every down to their underwear and threw them in the tent and tried to clean them up, it didnt really work the dirt was stuck to them!!
We had so much fun and even if we were all super dirty it was worth it, I cant wait to do it again!!!
I always feel like that, till we come home and I have 6 loads of laundry, a batch of tomatoes waiting to be done, onions to be froze, and carrots that need to have something done to them!!
It took 3 days, but i did catch up on everything, and now I think that it was fun enough i would go back soon!!!
But now it is late and this post is starting to sound like jibberish, maybe because i started this last night but my children have not been the nicest today so it took me ALL DAY to get done. So i am tired and for some reason my children dont sleep in so...
off to bed I go!!!!!
