hunting expo

For Christmas this year, Kyle got a room booked in Salt Lake during the hunting Expo!
We decided to make it a family vacation!
To say i was dreading the long drive was a understatement, but I got a backpack full of stuff to keep them busy and me sane!

We left Thursday night to go to Cedar, Grace was kinda sad cause she was going to miss her 100 day of school party, but when she found out we were going to go swimming and eat treats, she was ok with it!

We woke up on Friday and started our long trip, we first had to stop at Cal Ranch and get kyle some pants. Then we couldn't start our trip off without our drinks with good Utah ice so we stopped at KB oil. By the time we got to Fillmore Kyle and his peanut sized bladder had to stop. Then Grace decided that she needed to get out also. The girls were really good on the long ride up till about Provo, then we decided that we better eat some lunch.
After Wendy's and some frostys we went to cabelas.

The girls loved to look at the fish in the tanks and all of the animals, I think that cabelas needs a little face lift cause there were alot of fish floating and it was kinda dirty.
After a little stop at Target for some swimming suits, (I forgot to pack Kyle and mine!), we made it to the hotel. We stayed at the Hilton Gardens in downtown Salt Lake City, I havent been downtown for lots and lots of years, but i loved it! I told Kyle if we are ever rich we will buy a house there and live there in the summers!

As soon as we got into the room the girls took shoes, pants, diapers, everything off to get comfortable! Kyle decided that we should go over to the expo that night just to check it out, so we loaded up and went over. Kyle really loved all of the mounts and the girls thought it was pretty fun. After walking around for awhile, we decided that we better get some dinner.
We went to a smiths and got some cup of noodles, some good broccoli cheddar soup and some stuff for breakfast and went back to the room.

The girls were excited to not be at home so they woke up pretty early. After eating donuts with cereal on them and fruit, we went swimming!
The girls love to swim and so they were like fish! The water was a little colder than me or kyle would have liked but we still had fun.
After getting baths and dressed we went back over to the hunting expo!
There was alot more people there, but we pushed our way threw and got to see lots of fun stuff!

One of my favorite things was this tiny full grown owl! I really would love one for a pet! Kyle got himself a few hats and lots of things to dream about, i got a cute new shirt!

After we were all done at the expo, we rode over to the Cathedral of the Madeleine, If we wouldn't have had the kids, i would have went to mass. But holding down 3 kids trying to make them be quiet just didnt sound like something i wanted to do! Next time, when it is just me and Kyle, we will go!

After taking a few pictures we went for a ride around and I picked out a few houses I am going to buy when i am rich! We got Addison to take a little nap and so we went back to the room to let her sleep! When she woke up it was about dinner time, since Grace loves shrimp we went to Sizzler. Grace ate more shrimp that kyle or I and she even ate a huge bowl of ice cream, she was in heaven!

When we got back, we all put our swimming suits back on and went to swim one last time! We were really hoping that it would wear them out so they would sleep in a little, but it didnt really work!

When we woke up it was raining a little, as soon as we were ready and packed, it started to snow! It was a long drive till about Scipio, but at least it was just slush and we got out of there before it was to bad!

Being up in the city really made me want to move, starbucks chai tea latte in the morning, more than just linns to shop at, somewhere to eat, lots of different places to eat, things to do, places to see, but Kyles job is here, dang it!
Graces favorite thing we did was swim, then cabelas, then the hunting expo cause she got a stamp!
Kyle liked dreaming all weekend.
The twins, well they were just the almost 3 year old crazy children they are!
We had fun, but holy cow it reminded us why we dont leave the house much with all the kids and it defiantly made me realize it is time for a vacation with just me and Kyle, cant wait for my mom to get here so she can have some grandma/grand kid time!
