catch up

While we were gone all summer, our garden was growing here at home! We sure had a beautiful watermelon garden, It is still kinda alive, but I will only get a few more watermelons off of it. The few watermelons that we have gotten have been the best watermelons that I have ever had. We will for sure be growing them again.

Awhile ago Kyle and I decided I should go get my eyes fixed, so after all of our traveling was done I decided that I was going to give myself the gift of sight for my birthday. I went in the first week of September to see if I could even get it done and then the next thing i knew I had surgery scheduled for 2 weeks later! Really I could see as soon as it was done, it just hurt to have my eyes opened and the next day I drove myself into Vegas and had 20/15 vision. Really if you are wearing glasses or contacts stop and call for an appointment, it will be the best thing you will do for yourself!

We have been having a rough time with Grace at school, I have gave her my anti social, scared of everything and everyone, personality. Well it could be Kyle she got it from, we are both kinda weird, (haha). Anyways, she is backwards shy, it is super frustrating and I am pretty sure Zanex isnt to far off in my future.

It is now October and we are still swimming, it is not fall here at all, hopefully this next week it will start to cool off.

I have decided when people tell me they want to have twins i want to "high five them in the face". I just want to say,
  • the odds of having them in the NICU are pretty high.
  • the odds of having to be on bed rest is pretty high.
  • you never have enough time for them.
  • you never have enough time for yourself.
  • you never have enough time for your other children, or husband.
  • if you have older children, they fill left out, alot.
  • taking care of 2 screaming babies is not fun.
  • breaking up fights between two 2 year olds is not fun.
  • have you ever heard of "twin skin"? if not look it up. Having 2 babies growing inside you is not good for the body.
  • have you ever wondered how much money diapers and formulas for 2 babies for a year is?

With all that being said...
The other morning I gave all 3 girls a little of my smoothie I was having for breakfast. I told them it was ice cream. Alaynna was side tracked with trying to go potty so Grace decided she was going to eat her sisters!
When Alaynna got back to the table she threw a fit, but Addison was there to save her. She gave her the last of her "ice cream". Addison said, "sister eat mine" and Alaynna said, "ya, ya".
It is pretty cute how the twins take care of each other.
But about 10 minutes after this, they had a big fight that ended in biting and me having to put them both in time out, oh the joys of two 2 year olds!

Grace loves to read, well she loves to be read to. The other day we were having one of our talks where i am kinda listening but kinda not cause this child really likes to talk. Well she keep asking me the same question over and over so I decided I would listen and so she could stop asking the question. She was trying to figure out what the name is of the person who draws in books. It took me awhile to figure it out but it was a illustrator! So for now when she grows up she would really like to be a author and a illustrator.
I think thats a pretty good dream for a kindergartner!

Grace is a super tom boy. She always has some lizard or gecko or bug or worm in her hand trying to get the little girls to touch it. Right now she is hunting with Kyle and would really like the horns on her wall!

While my watermelons were growing wonderfully, my corn was growing retardedly. It is miniature and some dont have many kernels, but my kids dont care, they eat it straight from the garden!

Usually it is Kyle who is always out hunting, but this year that is going to be me! The end of October I have my Nevada elk hunt and then the first of November I have my Paunsaugunt management deer tag. I am really excited about both of them, I think Kyle is a little more excited, but for our 6th anniversary I get almost a whole week with Kyle in the mountains. That means for our 7th I get a whole week on the beach with Kyle!

Neither Kyle or I are to patient so Grace is just barely learning how to ride a bike. She is pretty stubborn and gets frustrated easy and well, that to is a toss up from who she gets that trait from. Now that she know how to ride a bike she wants to ride it everywhere!

I dont know if it is because Addison and Alaynna are at a horrible age or what, but newborns dont make me want to cry cause I need another baby. Dont get me wrong I still wouldnt pass up the chance to hold, cuddle, and smell a newborn, but it doesnt make me feel that "need".

But that might changes cause I get to a new niece in less than a month from Jakell and I get another niece or (hopefully) a nephew from Kaden and Laura in March!!! I am pretty excited about both!

I also get a new sister-in-law in December! Vance and Teisha made it official like a week ago! I am really happy for Vance, I approve of her, since my opinion matters and all!!!!

I have a new pet peeve, I mean I always have had it but just didnt realize it. I had to learn tact,  (click on the word if you dont know what it means, cause apparently alot of people dont.) If i learned, believe me you can to. Something that goes along with this is knowing when to keep your thoughts in your pretty little head, we dont need to hear everything you think about everything we do wrong. It is called a filter and believe me I filter, otherwise i probably wouldnt have any friends.

One last thought on this post, cause I only have one more picture...
The world is a horrible, sad, scary place to raise kids, I pray every night that my children's "grown up" life is somehow in a better world than what is now. I hate to even watch the news because of all evil in this world. I am a mama bear for this reason, and I am a bit overprotective, but like Great Grandma Leavitt told me, if your not looking out for your kids, who is?!

Labor Day

Every year on Labor Day weekend we go to the Algar family reunion! Since it is up in the mountains camping the girls always have so much fun. There is always family and some one new to play with them so that make me and Kyle happy!

The girls played with Grandpa Penn, they got ball threw at them and hardly caught one!!!!

We went for lots of walks.

The girls put on a concert for us.

Addison sang and sang, I like to eat, eat, eat, apples and bananas, that is one of her favorites!

Alaynna was far more interested in climbing up and down the stairs.

Kyle and I just watched the crazy children of ours, wear themselves out.

While we walked we found grass as tall as the girls, so they had to run in it.

Dont ya love how she is cross eyed in this one.

These huge "wish flowers" kept them busy for awhile, they couldnt really "blow" them, so they just tried really hard!

On our way back to the trailer we found a horny toad, Grace of course had to catch the thing and make it her pet!

After she found a cup home for her horny toad, we were all bored and so they decided that baseball would be fun!

The twins were kinda in the way of Kyle winning the game so I took some pictures of them.

Nancy decided that we needed to start doing a game or something, so she did the minute to win it game where you roll a cookie down your face and who ever can get the cookie to their mouth first wins.

It took a few tries, but Kaden got it!

After the game we had the auction, I got some yummy pomegranate jelly and a ton of stuff that Grace and Addison kept bidding on.
Teisha got to model this beautiful coat, she was a good sport.

We had so much fun and we always look forward to going up every year to see all the family and hang out and do nothing but move our chairs from the sun to the shade!
