life

I love the rain, so when we woke up to rain this morning I was happy! It was that or a little sugar high from my iced coffee that I think I am addicted to after being at Jerricas!

Either way we went out side to enjoy the cooler weather and to turn on my camera and really used it for the first time in awhile.

We did a practice run today for Grace cause she starts school on Monday, (I am jumping for joy) She wont get on the bus till 8:15ish and school is alot closer so I can take her if we are running late.
I am trying to see all the positives in moving from our home, being close to the school is one of them!

Another positive is I can get to mesquite in 24 minutes!! That is only about 10 more minutes than running down to Overton to Linns.

Kyle found out that it was not the quail or bunnys eating his pumpkins, it was ants!! I think down here they have every species of ant, but no worries Kyle and I are killing them off slowly but surly! Anyone out there have any great ideas or secrets on how to get rid of these buggers??

I have felt kinda lost here at Nancys house, I havent really been here long cause of my little vacation to see Jerr, Joey, and the kids, but i am trying to stay busy and get into a routine. I do better with a nice predictable routine,( can you say control freak )!!! But I have found that I enjoy painting my nails, even though they look like Grace did them.
Also I have been hulu and netflixing, ya those are words. I have started watching Parenthood, it is like real life, I love it!
I also clean and organize, i still have alot to do, but it is nice to feel useful! Nancy has these little cubby holes that hold so much junk, really those cubbys are the only reason all of our stuff has fit upstairs! But they need some for real help, I just have thrown stuff in there to get it out of my sight. Next week when Grace is in school all day (Yahooooo) I will be doing those!

Am I the only one that is going to pee my pants with excitement that school is starting?!
Grace has gotten quiet the attitude problem lately, I feel overwhelmed and crazy when she gets like that. I didnt think that kids were suppose to get these little mood swing, attitude, think they are so smart and you are so not, meanness, issues till they were teenagers. I am afraid that it has started about 6 years early at this house.

Graces attitude makes me really scared for Alaynna to get older, she already is my emotional, whinny, soft hearted child. I really thought kids were suppose to get easier as they got older!

I think it will take awhile, but life here at the Leavitt place is good. We are just trying to get use to change still but hopefully life gets back to "normal" when school starts and I can feel less crazy, scatterbrained, and maybe have a little less ADD and anxiety.

I guess now i better go get something done, or maybe just watch another episode of Parenthood!

P.S.
Since being here in our new home, I am trying to be better with meal planning, can anyone give me some tips?

I have to get use to Linns being like a car ride away instead of just across the street.
I would love a calendar type thing to keep track, anyone do this and been successful?! If you have is it easier to do it weekly or monthly?!

  1. I know exactly how you feel! It is hard to get into a routine in a new place that is not your own. It will be good, though! I think it is easier to plan meals weekly. Our plans change too often. Your girls are adorable and getting so big!

  3. Agreed! Weekly meal planning is easiest. Dustin and I pick meals on Monday night til the next Monday. Then I buy the weeks worth of groceries on Tuesday. I spend less money because I know exactly what we are having and I only have to go to Lin's once a week. Oh and PS we need to get together now that you're only half a mile away! Oh PSS Allie and Grace will be on the bus together. How fun!

    1. Hey Marta- You can put your kids in preschool at around age 3 or 4, It just depends on where you live and what is available. But they start kindergarten when they are 5!
My twins are 3 and a half, and a handful for sure!
